PMO rejects criticism

NEW DELHI: The Prime Minister's Office on Saturday rejected the BJP and the Sangh Parivar's criticism that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was indulging in "minority appeasement."

PMO spokesperson Sanjaya Baru said that the Prime Minister in his speech at the National Development Council had only talked of the minorities, particularly Muslims, having the first claim over development plans. He had referred to development of all minorities, especially Muslims and the SCs and the STs, Mr. Baru added. — PTI
