MCD implements new building plans

Staff Reporter

The much-awaited self-assessment scheme

  • It is as per the notification issued by the Centre
  • For plotted development in residential colonies

NEW DELHI: The Municipal Corporation of Delhi on Tuesday announced implementation of the much-awaited self-assessment scheme for regularisation of unauthorised constructions in residential properties in the city as per the notification issued by the Centre.

    Architect

The scheme is only for plotted development in residential colonies in the city and not on the Delhi Development Authority colonies and groups housing society flats. Owners of residential properties wanting to get their unauthorised portions regularised as per the new notification issued by the Union Urban Development Ministry need to submit two sets of new building plan, one duly signed by him and other by an architect.

    Demarcate

The MCD has circulated the policy and has asked all Deputy Commissioner to start accepting new building plans with immediate affect. A property owner needs to submit his revised plan accompanied with the ownership document, three sets of photographs of the property taken from different angles, structural safety certificate from an engineer, fee and levy as per the notification.

The fee is to be calculated by the architect or owner on self-assessment basis.

The building plan of a property along its photographs should clearly demarcate unauthorised and authorised portions. Its owner should voluntary remove portions not covered under the new notification, while those falling under the revised plan would be regularised.

    Correctness

However, the MCD reserves the right to check the building for correctness of the building plans and the amount deposited towards regularisation. In case a construction does not tally with the plan, the MCD would take strict action against defaulters.
