"Sarabjit issue to be discussed with Pakistan"

Amritsar: The issue of the safe homecoming of death row prisoner Sarabjit Singh will be taken up with Pakistan next week, his sister Dalbir Kaur said here on Thursday.

External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee, who is visiting Pakistan on Saturday, had assured her last month that New Delhi would take up the matter with Islamabad soon, she said.

She said that the Minister had also assured her that he would ask the Pakistani Government to provide all necessary medical treatment to Sarabjit Singh, lodged in the Kotlakhpat Rai Jail in Lahore. — PTI
