TIRUCHI: The 90th birth anniversary celebrations of former Chief Minister M.G. Ramachandran provided an opportunity to his fans to listen to the popular numbers from old films.

The cadres of All-India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), who put up decorated portraits of the party founder in all the corners of the district on Wednesday, made it a point to play his hit songs through public address system from morning to night.

The songs `Naan aanaiyittal' (Enga Veettu Pillai), `Yaen endra kaelvi' (Aayirathil Oruvan), `Vetri meethu vetri vandhu,' `Thambi naan piranthen Kanchiyile netru' (Netru Indru Naalai), `Neenga nallaa irukkonum naadu munnera' (Idayakkani), `Naan ungal veettu pillai' (Puthiya Boomi), `Nalla perai vaanga vendum pillaigale' (Nam Naadu) were some which have withstood the test of time.
