NOIDA: After questioning the families of victims in the Nithari killings case for over two days, the Central Bureau of Investigation on Thursday re-registered around 40 complaints about children missing from the neighbouring areas of the industrial township.

The CBI team noted down details of age, identification marks and date and circumstances under which they went missing. Photographs of the missing children and copies of the complaints were collected from their families who had come to Nithari looking for them.

In a related development, CBI Director Vijay Shankar is learnt to have called on Home Minister Shivraj Patil at his residence on Thursday.

Mr. Shankar has reportedly apprised the Home Minister of the progress made in the case.

A bunch of polythene bags, a cellular phone cover and an axe were recovered from the house of prime accused Moninder Singh.

The CBI team that went to the village of Surender alias Satish, another accused, at Almora in Uttarakhand reportedly interrogated his mother Kunti, wife Shanti and brother Anand Prakash about his conduct.
