EXPERIENCE MULTIPLEX: A view of the new INOX complex at Citi Center on Radhakrishnan Salai. Photo: R. Shivaji Rao
The four-screen, 909-seater multiplex located at Citi Center mall, was formally launched on Thursday by the COO of INOX Leisure, Alok Tandon. INOX tickets will be priced at Rs 120, except for the 10 percent of seats available at Rs 10 as per the Government rules. Mr. Tandon told newspersons that due to the price cap on tickets, they would take longer than the speculated five years to break even. He said that excluding real estate, the ballpark figure invested in the multiplex was Rs 12 crore. "We will be requesting the government to re-look these prices. Ideally, we would like flexi-pricing, where the morning shows can be cheaper... There is a market to pay for higher ticket prices." There will be 16 shows a day on regular days, with half an hour between each show, to avoid a rush. Services offered at the multiplex include online booking (www.inoxmovies.com) , door delivery (call 42658888), sandwiches, pastries and snacks, with frequent menu changes. The box-office is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. everyday. INOX plans to include regional films on the menu for viewers. Mr. Tandon also said that they would be hosting film festivals in future. The films currently running at INOX are Guru, Thaamarabharani, Risk, Blood Diamond, Déjà Vu, United 93 and You, Me & Dupree.
