Chandigarh: Orissa Steelers outplayed Hyderabad Sultans 2-0 in their first encounter of the second leg of the Premier Hockey League here on Tuesday. Steelers is now placed on top now with 17 points, while Sultans is at the bottom of the table with five points. The first goal came in the 7th minute of the second half off the team's third penalty corner. Captain Dilip Tirkey deflected the hit to Damandeep Singh, who moved quickly to push it past goalkeeper Devesh Chauhan. The first goal had to be decided by the video umpire when there was some confusion whether Damandeep had taken the hit cleanly. Steelers then launched a counter-attack led by Dilip Tirkey who passed a long shot to Adnan Zakir, who relayed it to Bruno Lugun who made no mistake firing it in with a reverse flick. Sultans failed to convert all its three penalty corners. Even though Steelers earned two back-to-back penalty corners towards the end of the first half, both went in vain. PTI
