Staff Reporter
Unidentified assailants manage to escape Friends rescue Golla Kittu
HYDERABAD:
A financier, Krishna alias Golla Kittu, was shot at by a gang of unidentified persons, at Sanjeevaiahnagar in Marredpally on Tuesday night.
The victim suffered a bullet wound on his back and was admitted in a corporate hospital. His condition was critical.
Thirtytwo-year-old Kittu of Alladipentaiahnagar daily spends some time with his friends near his old house at Sanjeevaiahnagar. As usual, he drove to the place around 7.45 p.m., parked his bike outside a building under construction and walked a few feet when four persons came from behind.
"On hearing his screams, a couple of friends rushed to the financier's rescue. They retaliated by hurling stones at the assailants forcing the latter to flee," the Marredpally police said.
The attackers divided into two groups and ran away in different directions. Police recovered a cartridge from the spot.
Kittu, charged with involvement in the murder of one Lambu Raju in Karkhana three years ago, was reportedly acquitted later.
