Andhra to meet TN

VISAKHAPATNAM: Andhra will meet Tamil Nadu in Monday's final of the South Zone veterans' cricket tournament for RVVK Prasad Trophy at Kakinada.

Andhra beat Goa by five wickets and also in the required number of overs to top pool B with better run quotients than Goa and Kerala. Tamil Nadu beat Hyderabad in pool A by 14 runs.

Tamil Nadu made the final with one win and one loss record after the Veterans Cricket Association has decided that Karnataka, the other team in the pool which won two matches, was not eligible to play the final on technical grounds, according to organising secretary Satish Babu.

The scores: Goa 167 for nine in 25 overs (Chandra Tendulkar 40, Vijaya Saradhi five for 36) lost to Andhra 168 for five in 20.1 overs (Oscar Vinod Kumar 57 n.o.).

Tamil Nadu 158 for six in 20 overs (S. Satish Kumar 40) bt Hyderabad 144 for nine in 20 overs (Nanda Kishore 53, B. Srinivas 41).
