CPI(M)'s plea to Centre

Special Correspondent

CHENNAI: The Communist Party of India (Marxist) has appealed to the Centre not to fall prey to the move made by the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam and other parties, which were trying to stop the Sethusamudram canal project dredging work.

The State-level meeting sought efforts to hasten completion of the mega project.

Referring to the recent abduction of fishermen from Tamil Nadu by Sea Tigers of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam, the CPI (M) wanted monitoring of certain political parties and organisations, which were supporting the LTTE, and appealed to the authorities to take note of such developments, State Secretary, N. Varadarajan said in a statement.
