NEW DELHI: The Rajya Sabha was thrown into turmoil on Friday over a letter by U.S. legislators asking Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to keep ties with Iran on the backburner in order to save the nuclear deal. Raising the issue as soon as the House assembled, Brinda Karat (CPI-M) wanted the Government to summon the U.S. Ambassador and inform him that Parliament was outraged by the letter, "which insulted not only the Prime Minister but the entire country as well." She was joined by Yashwant Sinha (BJP) and Digvijay Singh (JD-U), forcing Parliamentary Affairs Minister Priyaranjan Dasmunsi to assure them that the Prime Minister would be informed of their sentiments.
