Arjun Atwal moves up

Fort Smith (USA): Arjun Atwal returned an erratic one-under 69 but still managed to move up, rising four places to tied 46th after the penultimate round of the U.S. Nationwide Tour's $525,000 Fort Smith Classic golf championship.

The Orlando-based Indian sank in four birdies against three bogeys to take his three-round total to four-under 206.

At the top, American Justin Bolli shot a second successive seven-under 63 to surge to the lead.

Bolli's season-low 15-under 195 matched Mark Hensby's tournament-record 54-hole score in 1998 and gave him a comfortable three-stroke lead over compatriot Ron Whittaker (64) and Canadian Jon Mills (67).

Jeev tied sixth

At Milan, Jeev Milkha Singh soared on the wings of a first-hole eagle and added five more birdies as he made a good upward move in the second round of the Telecom Italian Open.

Jeev, who had a three-under 69 in the first round, was seven-under after 16 holes in the second round, taking his total to ten-under with two more holes to go.

The Indian was tied sixth, four shots off the lead in a tournament cut to 54 holes.

Randhawa recovers

Meanwhile, Jyoti Randhawa recovered some ground as he took some advantage of the `preferred lies rule' to shoot three-under 69 in the second round play on Saturday.

Randhawa was four-under after two rounds and tied 53rd.

At the top, Andrew McLardy added a second successive 65 to go 10-under and lead the field.

Johl joint 72nd

At Seoul, Amandeep Johl ended a rather forgettable weekend with a final round of six-over 78 that saw him finish tied 72nd, while South Korea's Kim Kyung-tae coasted to a five-stroke victory in the GS Caltex Maekyung Open. — PTI
