Bihar routs Maharashtra

Rourkela: Bihar trounced Maharashtra 7-0 in a Group `A' quarterfinal league match of the 15th senior National women's football championship here on Sunday. Maharashtra's second defeat meant its exit from the tournament while Bihar would now lock horns with defending champion Manipur in the last group match for a place in the semifinals.

Dominating the exchanges throughout, Bihar opened in the ninth minute through Anu Kumari, who led the scorer's list with three goals followed by Shivanjali Kumari (2) while Mousam Kumari and Jyoti Kumari scored one goal each. In a Group D quarterfinal league tie Tripura beat Mizoram 1-0. Rakhi Saha was the goal-scorer. — PTI
