Radhakrishnan triumphs

HYDERABAD: B. Radhakrishnan of Tamil Nadu won the men's singles title defeating C. Bharatidasan 25-13, 25-9 in the final of the South India invitation prize money carrom tournament at Gudur on Sunday, according to information received here.

D. Kubendra Babu defeated S. Sakthivelu 25-13, 22-25, 25-10 for the third place.

In the doubles final, G. Shiva and J.N. Shyama Sunder downed the pair of B. Radhakrishnan and S. Sakthivelu 9-25, 25-8, 25-15.

Easy for Arshad Ayub Academy

Arshad Ayub Academy scored a 34-run win over Bhega's School in the SCF inter-academies cricket tournament (under-15) at the St. Thomas School Ground here.

The scores: Arshad Ayub Academy 162 for seven in 25 overs (Mallikarjun 55, Nitin 40, Daniel four for 25) bt Bhega's School 128 for seven (Prem 62).

Geetanjali School

in semifinals

Geetanjali School scored a six-wicket win over St. Peter's High School to enter the semifinal of the eighth Boston Cup sub-juniors cricket tournament organised by the Sports Coaching Foundation (Masab Tank) here.

The scores: St. Peter's High School 71 for two in 12 overs lost to Geetanjali School 72 for four.

Big win for Deloitte

Deloitte scored a 128-run victory against Maytas in the Maytas Properties Hyderabad indoor cricket cup tournament at the Hi-Tex International Convention Centre (Madhapur) here.

The scores: Deloitte 212 for five (Akhilesh 79, Niveditha 42) bt Maytas 84.

Deloitte 162 (Sumith 54) lost to GE Money 165 for three (Mushtaq 81).

Baseball tournament

The Krishna District Baseball Association will organise the AP inter-District tournament for men and women at Vijayawada from June 6 to 10, according to association secretary K.N.V. Prasad.

Training camp would be held at four places — Veervalli, Machilipatnam, Vuyyuru and Jaggaiahpet — from May 15 to select the Krishna District team.

Fifteen men and 10 women's teams are expected for the tournament, which will be held on league-cum-knockout basis.
