Bangalore: Karnataka Taekwondo Academy (KTA) and RWF Centre emerged champions in the sub-junior boys and girls categories respectively of the State sub-junior and junior taekwondo championship that concluded on Sunday. KTA bagged 32 points while RWF gained 23 points.In the junior segment, Harihara won the boys team title with 27 points while KTA won the girls section with 34 points.
Tennis tournament
At Mysore, the MTA-MTC Championship Series tennis tournament for junior boys and girls (u-14 and 16) will kick-off at the Mysore Tennis Club courts on Monday. The five-day tournament has attracted around 200 entries from Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, West Bengal, Gujarat and Karnataka. The seedings: Boys: U-16: 1. Vinod Gowda (Kar); 2. Alla Srikar (AP); 3. Chirag S. Igoor (Kar); 4. C.M. Kiran (Kar). U-14: 1. Vinod Gowda (Kar); 2. Alla Srikar (AP); 3. R. Vigneshwaran (TN); 4. Acharya Bharadwaj (AP). Girls: U-16: 1. Rachana R. Gowda (Kar); 2. A.K. Padmapriya (Kar); 3. U.M. Shalaka (Kar); 4. Likitha Devaraj (Kar). U-14: 1. Likitha Shetty (Kar); 2. Maya Mahalingam (TN); 3. Surya Suresh (Kar); 4. Urmila Gunuganti (AP).
