CHENNAI: Delhi racer Karthik Shankar of Team Wallace Sports took centrestage as he worked his way to a fine win in both Race1 and Race 2 in the fourth round of the JK Tyre Junior Racing Cup at the Madras Motor Racing Track, Irrungattukottai, near here on Sunday. Staring in pole position, Karthik raced off to a comfortable lead and held on till the chequered flag. Narain Shankar of Team Rams Racing did well to move up to second place, but could not improve further as Karthik was placed well ahead. Finishing in third place was Bangalore lad Nischay from Team Wallace Sports. Karthik had the fastest lap timing of 01:14:01. In Race 2, Karthik came up with another excellent drive to win by a comfortable margin. Once again Narain finished second with Nischay coming in third. At the end of fourth Round, Karthik leads in the overall championship with 59 points. In second place is Narain with 58 while Sudarshan Rao is in third place with 56 points. The results: Race 1 (10 laps): 1. Karthik Shankar 12:58:24, 2. Narain Shankar 13:02:82, 3. Nischay 13:08:25. Race 2 (10 laps): 1. Karthik Shankar 12:36:10, 2. Narain Shankar 12:42:19, 3.
