Institute set to launch e-learning initiative

CHENNAI
: SSN Institutions will launch an e-learning initiative from the next academic year. Its 250-acre campus on Old Mahabalipuram Road will be made Wi-Fi (Wireless Fidelity) enabled at a cost of Rs. 2 crore, SSN Institutions president Kala Vijayakumar told press persons here on Wednesday.
From the next academic year onwards, students of first year B.E, B.Tech, M.E, M.B.A and M.C.A programmes will have to buy laptops, each costing Rs. 41,000, provided by SSN Institutions.
"There will be easy loan facilities," said Ms. Vijayakumar.
The faculty will also be provided laptops. Student will access the e-learning framework using their own user IDs and will be able to submit assignments online.
