10.54 kg of heroin seized, two held

MADURAI:
In a predawn operation, sleuths of the Narcotics Control Bureau arrested a top drug pedlar in Bangalore on Thursday and seized heroin worth Rs. 10.54 crore in the international market and meant for smuggling to Sri Lanka.
Following intelligence inputs, a team, led by NCB south zone unit Director A. Davidson Devasirvatham, raided a house at Bommanahalli around 5 a.m. and apprehended Bawa alias Mohammed Arif Rehman (65) and his accomplice, Mansoor Hussain (30), of Bhopal, minutes before the duo planned to hand over 10.54 kg of heroin stuffed in packets to an agent, NCB sources said.
