`Bullets were found in Pravin's house'

Mumbai: A `panch' witness in the Pramod Mahajan murder case, in which his younger brother Pravin Mahajan is the main accused, on Tuesday told the trial court that 28 live bullets were found in Pravin's house in Thane during the panchnama.

Arvind Patel was the `panch' when police searched Pravin's house where the bullets were found in a cupboard in one of the bedrooms.

Mr. Patel said Pravin's passport, an agreement (whose nature was not disclosed) in the name of Pravin and his wife Sarangi and the licence for his pistol were seized in his presence.

He also identified Pravin's son Kapil who was at home during the panchnama.

The defence completed cross-examination of another witness, Suresh Ambre, who removed the bullet that was stuck in the weapon used for murder at the Worli police station.

The case will come up for hearing again on June 7 before the Additional Sessions Judge Shrihari Davare. — PTI
