THINGS MADE EASIER: Passengers at the reservation counter for Tiruchi and Madurai-bound buses that was opened on Monday at the Gandhipuram Town Bus Stand in the city. —
COIMBATORE: The Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (Coimbatore Division-I) opened on Monday a current reservation counter for its bus services to Madurai and Tiruchi. The Corporation’s Madurai and Tiruchi divisions are already operating their services from here to these places. But, the new facility is only for booking seats in the Coimbatore division’s services. Timing
The counter will function from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the time keeper’s cabin in the Gandhipuram Town Bus Stand. The services to Tiruchi are operated from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. and those to Madurai from 10 p.m. to midnight. Passengers bound for places on the way can also avail themselves of the reservation facility. Its opening is said to be timely as train services to Madurai have been cancelled. because of the work to convert the line from metre gauge to broad gauge. The reservation facility would also be of immense help to the aged and also women and children as it would eliminate the last-minute scramble for seats in the buses.
