Chennai: The Higher Education Department has reconstituted the search committee to recommend a panel of three names to the Governor for selecting a Vice-Chancellor for Alagappa University, Karaikudi.
Justice A.R. Lakshmanan, Chairman, Law Commission of India, will be the Governor’s nominee and convenor of the panel, which will consist of A. Shanmugam, Professor of Political Science, Annamalai University; T. Kannan, vice-chairman and correspondent of Thiagarajar College of Engineering, Madurai; K.P. Aravaanan, former Vice-Chancellor, Manonmaniam Sundaranar University; and V. Viswanathan.
The panel was reconstituted as the earlier the Governor’s nominee and convenor, B.S. Raghavan, and another member, K. Balakrishnan, expressed their inability to serve on the panel, the Government said in two separate G.O.s issued on Monday.
