MADURAI: The Amutha Surabi Kalai Mandram distributed notebooks and stationery items to school students and honoured SSLC and Plus Two toppers of Corporation schools at its 32nd anniversary celebrations here last week. It distributed notebooks worth Rs. 3 lakh to 3,000 students. S. Bhavani and S. Abdul Khader, toppers among Corporation schools in Plus Two and SSLC examinations, were conferred with the ‘Amutha Surabhi Award.’ The State-level rank holders — M. Pandiselvi (nursing), J. Deeparani (geography), A. Ayeshamariam (commerce) and M. Karthik (marketing) also received awards. A ‘patti mandram’ was organised. Mayor G. Thenmozhi distributed the notebooks and awards. Deputy Mayor P.M. Mannan and MLA N. Nanmaran spoke.
