Gitanjali makes final

HYDERABAD: Gitanjali recorded a thrilling 36-31 win over Hyderabad Public School (Begumpet) in the boys’ semifinals of Fr. Devasia Memorial basketball tournament at the St. Patrick’s High School courts here on Saturday.

In the other last-four match, St. Andrews got the better of host St. Patrick’s 39-21.

The results:

Boys: Semifinals: Gitanjali 36 (Viren 11, Suraj 8) bt HPS (Begumpet) 31 (Koushal 10, Vinay 8); St. Andrews ‘A’ 39 (Santosh 16, Pranav 13) bt St. Patrick’s 21 (Antony Paul 11, Herbert 8).

Quarterfinals: St. Andrews ‘A’ 42 (Santosh 9) bt Ivy League 12; St. Patrick’s 34 (Paul 11, Herbert 10) bt St. Andrews ‘B’ 22 (Richard 12).
