Sathiyamurthy slams century

Namakkal: A fine century knock by J. Sathiyamurthy (102) enabled Perambalur score a 104-run win over host Namakkal in the TNCA under-13 inter district cricket tournament in Pallipalayam recently.

The scores: At Namakkal: Permbalur DCA 264 for five in 50 overs (J. Sathiyamurthy 102, V. Aravind 71, Gowtham three for 47) bt Namakkal DCA 160 for nine in 50 overs.

Villupuram DCA 82 in 43.5 overs (B. Harihara Sudhan three for 12, J. Prabhaharan three for 23) lost to Pudukottai DCA 83 for four in 41 overs.

At Coimbatore: Theni 94 in 28 overs (Prakash four for 24) bt Puducherry 87 in 36.1 overs (Jeeva three for 24).

Madurai 171 in 49 overs lost to Dindigul 125 for seven in 35 overs (Surya 44 not out, Prasanna Venkatesh three for 28). (Target revised due to rain).

At Salem: Kanyakumari DCA 105 in 36 overs (Don C. Williams 50, Krishna Kumar four for 24, Vijayan five for 32) lost to Tiruvannamalai DCA 109 for five wickets in 19.2 overs (Thirumalai 34).

Nagapattinam DCA 86 in 43 overs (Rajesh 35, Vignesh four for 14, Manikandan three for 18) bt Salem DCA 79 in 49.3 overs. (Siddharth three for 21, Ragavendran three for 10).

Earlier scores: Kanyakumari 42 in 19.3 overs (P. Deepak Siddarth eight for 16 – includes hattrick) lost to Salem 43 for five in 17.3 overs (B. Sharma three for 20).

Tiruvannamalai 138 in 46.4 overs (Kumaran six for 48, P. Rajesh three for 16) bt Nagapattinam 100 in 40.2 overs (S. Krishnakumar three for 13, Selva Ganapathi three for 23).
