Award for young achievers

CHENNAI: The Ma Foi Foundation has announced the DISHA award for young achievers for this year.

The award is the highlight of the Ma Foi Foundation annual programme, which aims at recognising young people with disadvantaged backgrounds who have attained excellence in academics, extra-curricular activities or community service.

To be eligible for the award a candidate has to be in the 10 to 16 age group. Recipients of past Sornammal young achievers awards from any institution are not eligible to apply.

The criteria for selection include the socio-economic background of the candidate and degree of achievement among other things.

The award will be given on September 11. Interested candidates may visit www.themafoifoundation.org , www.ciosa.org.in.

The last date for the submission of applications is August 30.
