President’s Police Medal for 17 CBI men

NEW DELHI: Seventeen officers and other ranks of the Central Bureau of Investigation have been awarded the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service and the Police Medal for Meritorious Service on the occasion of Independence Day.

R. R. Sahay, Easwaran Narayanan and Thomas John, all Superintendents of Police, have got the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service.

Those who got the Police Medal for Meritorious Service are: Anil Palta, D. C. Jain, S. Jagannathan and Piyush Anand, all DIGs; S. Balasuramony, S. B. Sankar, N.K. Pathak, Rajeev Kumar Chadha, all Deputy SPs; Vinay Kumar Shukla, Kishan Singh Negi and Ayyaswamy Jothi Ramalingam, all Inspectors; P. Ibrahim Abdul Aziz, Sub-Inspector, and Mohammad Samiullah and Ramji Singh Yadav, Assistant Sub-Inspectors.

The President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service for the Sashastra Seema Bal has been given to P.S. Thakur, Assistant Commandant.

Nine officers of the force, who got the Police Medal for Meritorious Service are: H.C. Pandey, DIG; Dr. Sashi Ranjan, CVO; S. Yaiskul Singh, Commandant; L.S. Thakur, Second-in-Command; Dhan Singh, Assistant Commandant; D. R. Chakraborty, Section Officer; Bimal Kumar Mishra, Sub-Inspector; S.K. Nandy, AFO (Medic) and Deep Ram, FO (Armourer).

In the case of the Central Reserve Police Force, S. R. Ojha, DIG, Srinagar; Constables Qureshi Vafadar Ahmed and Munish Kumar; Head Constable C. K. Bora; Constable Jeetendra Singh (posthumous) and Second-in-Command Arvinder Singh have been named for the President’s Police Medal for Gallantry.

The Prime Minister’s Police Medal for Gallantry for the force has gone to 21, an official release said.
