Minister favours role for industry in education

Koppal: The Minister for Minority Welfare and Koppal district in-charge Iqbal Ansari said on Monday that the active participation of industrialists in the field of education would make higher education accessible to the poor.
The Minister was inaugurating the “Rural Girl Child Assistance Programme” organised jointly by Godavari Fertilizers and Chemicals Ltd., and TI Cycles here.
The two companies have chalked out a novel programme to encourage girls in rural areas to go for higher education.
Koppal Zilla Panchayat president Vijayalakshmi Ramakrishna called upon the girls to go for higher education by utilising the support extended by Godavari Fertilizers.
S.G. Yallappa, Joint Director of Agriculture, Koppal; M. Mallanna, Deputy Director of Public Instruction, Koppal and Sidduba, Assistant Manager of TI Cycles were present.
K.S. Penchalaiah, senior manager (Marketing), Godavari Fertilizers and Chemicals Ltd., spoke.
