VIZIANAGARAM: Demanding pattas for occupied dried-up tank beds in the district, the CPI(M) organised "chalo Collectorate" on Friday. A large of number of poor people staged a dharna demanding pattas in the occupied Dakkina cheruvu, Thumma cheruvu, Nalla cheruvu, Kamaiah banda and other tanks in Vizianagaram, Parvathipuram, Bobbili, S.Kota, Kothavalasa etc.
Addressing the gathering, Reddy Sankar Rao, CPI(M) divisional secretary, said in violation of guidelines of the government, distribution of pattas to 280 beneficiaries in Anamvari Cheruvu in Dharmapuri was arranged. The district administration had allotted 52 cents of land In Muchchivani Cheruvu in Thotapalem for construction of Congress party office, he added.
