Amalapuram: The 40-hour protest by Amalapuram MP G.V. Harshakumar has yielded result.
The Reliance Gas Company has agreed to implement a package for villagers under Gadimoga panchayat in Tallarevu mandal of Konaseema from September 10.
The package will benefit some 1 lakh people under the panchayat and the adjacent Bhiravapalem villages in more ways than one.
These villages will get basic amenities like roads, hospital, community hall, school building, etc. at an estimated cost of Rs.12 crores.
Mr. Harshakumar went to Gadimoga and launched a hunger strike opposite the company’s gate on August 28.
As there was no response till August 29 evening, the district Collector and the Joint Collector urged the Reliance authorities to come to the negotiating table.
