VISAKHAPATNAM: An all-party Girijan committee was formed in the agency area of the district on Friday to continue the agitation till justice was done to the 11 women of Vakapalli in G. Madugula mandal who were allegedly gang-raped by the Grey Hound personnel. The new committee at a preliminary meeting held at Paderu, felt that Girijan rights must be protected and felt that the victims would receive justice only if the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) intervened and conducted its inquiry at the village itself. There were many eyewitnesses to the August 20 incident who could depose without fear and the Commission could examine the other evidence available at the village, the committee said.It also wanted DNA tests to be conducted on the police constable who allegedly gang raped the women.
