KOTTAYAM: Thiruvananthapuram took the first innings lead against Kottayam but the two-day South Zone inter-District under-22 match between the two sides ended in a draw on Saturday. Thiruvananthapuram got two points for the first innings lead while Kottayam drew a blank. Meanwhile, the Kollam-Pathanamthitta encounter ended in a draw. Both teams got a point each from the tie as the first innings couldn’t be completed. The scores: Kottayam 113 in 22.3 overs & 123 for three in 33 overs (Tariq Amin 43) drew with Thiruvananthapuram 222 in 54.5 overs (Akhil 79, Jis four for 45). Kollam 179 in 58.3 overs (Abdul Samad 65 n.o., S.Anish five for 30) drew with Pathanamthitta 123 for three in 35 overs (Rajalingam 56 n.o.).
