CHENNAI: Chennai lad Saran Vikram from Team NK Racing captured the pole position for both the races in the premier category — Formula Rolon Chevrolet — event of the JK Tyres National racing championship to be held on Sunday at the Madras Motor Race Track at Irungattukottai.
In the qualifying phase on Saturday, it proved a disappointing outing for leader Aditya Patel, who will now start fifth and 13th in the two races respectively. In the Formula LGB Hyundai Class, championship leader and Chennai’s promising lad Ashwin Sunder (Team Rams Racing) captured double pole positions. In the Formula Swift division, championship leader Ashwin Sundar was pushed to fourth place in race one and third in the next. Last year’s champion, Saran Vikram, took the pole position in both the races. — Special Correspondent
