Moin-ud-Dowla from today

HYDERABAD: The 77th all-India Moin-ud-Dowla Gold Cup invitation cricket tournament featuring 17 teams, including three from the host State, will commence at different grounds in the twin cities here on Sunday.

For the first time in recent memory, none of the Chennai-based top teams like MRF, Chemplast and India Cements will be involved.

The decision by the Chennai teams to keep away has deprived the tournament of its competitive spirit and professional approach. — Principal Correspondent
