Kapur tied 26th

Gleneagles (Scotland): A final round of 70 propelled Shiv Kapur to tied 26th but Jeev Milkha Singh returned his worst card of the week to drop to the tied 53rd spot at the Johnnie Walker Championship at Gleneagles.

Jeev carded a five-over 78 for a total of one-over 293.

Marc Warren birdied the second play-off hole to beat England’s Simon Wakefield and give the Scottish public a home victory.

Warren two-putted from 90 feet for a four after the pair had parred the 18th first time around. Warren and Wakefield finished tied on 21-under 280.

Kapur shot four birdies against a lone bogey to total four-under 288 at the par-73 PGA Centenary course. He birdied the fourth, 11th, 12th and 16th and his only dropped shot was on the 14th.

Chowrasia 16th

At Bandar Seri Begawan, S.S.P. Chowrasia rode on a quartet of birdies in his first four holes to return a final-round two-under 69 for a tied 16th finish at the Brunei Open.

Chinese Taipei’s Lin Wen-tang overcame a six-shot deficit to lift the title over a faltering Adam Le Vesconte of Australia.

Chopra slips

At Norton (USA), Daniel Chopra returned a disappointing three-over 74 to slide to tied 65th spot after the third round of the Deustche Bank Championships.

The Indian-born Swede managed just one birdie against two bogeys and a double bogey to total one-over 214.

At the top, Brett Wetterich shot a 66 that carried him to 13-under overall — a one shot lead over Arron Oberholser. Wetterich leads Phil Mickelson by two strokes and Tiger Woods and Aaron Baddeley by three shots in a star-studded leaderboard. — PTI
