HONG KONG: Striker Surinder Kaur spurred India to yet another impressive win as the defending champion routed Thailand 16-0, in its second Pool A league match in the Asia Cup women’s hockey tournament at the Kings Park here on Monday.
Surinder blasted five goals after having struck four in India’s 6-0 win against Malaysia on Sunday.
The big win also set an Asian Cup goal scoring record bettering China’s 15-0 score-line against Singapore.
India led 5-0 at the halftime before Surinder, Ritu and Mamta Kharab went on the goal binge to pound 11 goals in the second half.

India 16 (Surinder Kaur 5, Mamta Kharab 3, Ritu Rani 2, Jasjeet Kaur 2, Saba Anjum 2, Suman Bala, Rajwinder Kaur) beat Thailand 0.
