India for stable, democratic Bangladesh
Special Correspondent
NEW DELHI: India on Monday hoped that full democracy would be restored at the earliest in Bangladesh and the principle of respect for human rights would prevail.
Responding to questions about the arrest of the former Bangladesh Prime Minister, Khaleda Zia, a Foreign Office spokesperson said, “We have seen reports to this effect. In our view, the early and full restoration of democracy, due process of law and respect for individual rights will contribute to the evolution of a stable, democratic and prosperous Bangladesh.”
