L&T refutes panel’s land grab charge
Special Correspondent
BANGALORE: The Larsen and Toubro, which has been accused of encroaching government lands around Bangalore, has clarified that the allegations made against it were baseless.
In a clarification here on Thursday, Regional Manager of L and T L.N. Mitra said the company was carrying out quarrying operation on 21.5 acres of land at Soolivara under the licence granted by the Department of Mines and Geology and the licences were valid until 2015. This apart, the company was carrying out quarrying on four acres of land owned by it and another eight acres of land leased out to it by two registered land owners. “We are ready to clarify to the chairman of the panel,” he said.
