HYDERABAD: Counselling for admissions into B.Ed courses in the State would be held from October 22 to 31 and the notification in this regard would be issued within a week.

A decision on the date and admission modalities was taken at a meeting here on Wednesday. The APSCHE chairman K.C. Reddy said that networking centres in six universities would also be used this time apart from the six counselling centres of the Department of Technical Education (DTE).

While counselling for mathematics and physical sciences streams would be held at the university centres, counselling for biological sciences and social sciences would be conducted using the DTE facilities in Hyderabad, Guntur, Vishakapatnam, Tirupati, Warangal and Kadapa.

As of now, 40,000 seats are available in 354 colleges, for which 1.15 lakh qualified candidates would compete.

Prof. Reddy made it clear that colleges have to get NCTE permission, Government approval and university affiliation before October 18 to be included in the counselling.
