Hyderabad: Not many are lucky enough to realise their wishes. But little six-year-old Akash could fulfil his dream of becoming a district Collector. The terminally-ill Akash, who is afflicted with advanced cancer, lived out his dream when he occupied the Hyderabad district Collector’s chair on Wednesday.
It was a touching moment for the boy’s parents, Murali and Manju, while Akash himself looked all serious sitting on the coveted seat. After coming to know that Akash ardently desired to be a Collector, Mr. Chandravadan met the boy and his parents at the Indo-American Cancer Institute and Research Centre where Akash is being treated for sarcoma, a rare disease.
The Collector invited him to his office and offered his seat. Indira, a volunteer from Women in Network, a voluntary organisation, facilitated meeting . Akash, who hails from Vizag, is a UKG student of St. Aloysis School.
