YSR pats city police on ‘nimajjanam’

HYDERABAD: Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy on Wednesday complimented the city police for ensuring peaceful and smooth conduct of ‘Ganesh nimajjanam’.

Despite apprehensions expressed from some quarters after the recent twin blasts, the police took every care to prevent untoward incidents.

All arrangements, including deployment of hundreds of surveillance cameras, computerised monitoring of the procession and positioning of adequate police force was made to ensure smooth conduct of the event, he said.

While the police put all arrangements in place, the peaceful conduct of the event could not have been possible without the cooperation of the people, including the Ganesh Utsav Samiti as also the departments that were overseeing the event, Dr. Reddy said. He showered praises on the citizens for keeping the city’s reputation in maintaining communal harmony.
