Karunanidhi asks Boopathi Pandian to remove one particular scene in the end, to shorten film Film director Boopathi Pandian says the movie has a good blend of action and humour
A promotional still from the film ‘Malaikottai’. Chennai: The ‘Malaikottai’ crew was an excited lot on Tuesday, after a special screening that was conducted for a special family. They were filled with enthusiasm and delight when Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi, his wife Dayalu Ammal and son Local Administration Minister M.K. Stalin came for a special screening of the film. An elated director Boopathi Pandian said, “I was watching the Chief Minister’s face keenly to see his reactions. Effort“I have put in a lot of effort to get the dialogues right, and every time he smiled gently, it felt great,” the director said, recalling the screening session. The Chief Minister also gave a tip to the director of the film. Mr. Karunanidhi asked Boopathi Pandian to remove one particular scene in the end. “He felt it was long. I was amazed at his eye for detail,” the director said. The director said the film had a nice blend of action and humour. “My hero, Anbu (Vishal), and heroine, Malar (Priya Mani), are like people we come across everyday. Besides the film most of its characters also have Tamil names.” Actor Vishal is said to have worked really hard on the stunt sequences. After an accident while shooting for the film and the 14 stitches it incurred, he laughs, saying, “The film has scarred me for life. I will remember it forever.” Vishal said he hoped fans liked his performance in the movie, particularly during the comedy scenes. After playing Muthazhagu, a typical village girl in ‘Paruthiveeran’, actor Priya Mani plays an engineering student studying in Tiruchi in ‘Malaikottai’. The film will be released on Thursday.
