CHENNAI: Arun Kumar was convinced of the therapeutic powers of yoga when he joined the Sivananda Ashram in Thiruvananthapuram for a formal training in yoga. His three-year stint there helped him in his work when he joined as yoga, meditation and stress management consultant with Apollo Hospitals in 1996.

He has conducted several programmes for companies, including Polaris, Lason India, Satyam Computers, KCP, Murugappa Group, and Sutherland. “We teach people yogic movements, relaxation and breathing techniques as a preventive mode of treatment for computer-related injuries,” says Mr. Kumar, chairman of Infinite Dimension Charitable Trust. “There is a need for strong reinforcement that one has to outgrow stress.” It is with this objective that he formed the trust.

“We will make them understand the impact of stress to manage it effectively and help them improve interpersonal relationships. This will ultimately increase productivity and enhance the intellect, emotional and spiritual quotient.” The answer lies in meditation. Meditation helps to unravel the state of bliss, says Mr. Kumar.

Among the personalities he has trained are cricketers Rahul Dravid, Venkatesh Prasad and Chaminda Vaas. On Sunday, the trust will hold a seminar on ‘Synergising body, mind and soul’ at Tattvaloka on Eldams Road in the city. The seminar will explore ways to synergise the fine aspects of emotional, psychological and physical energy for blissful existence.
