Ganja seized, two arrested

CHENNAI: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) police on Friday detained two persons, as they got down from a Tirupati-Chennai train, and seized six bags of cannabis leaves.

The action followed a tip-off.

The Narcotics Intelligence Bureau (NIB) police arrested them and seized the ganja valued at Rs 2.50 lakh. The names of the accused were given as T.Prabhakaran of Theni and Vijayan from Cumbum.

The police are also examining whether the duo had planned to sell the narcotics in the city or carry it to some other destination.
