BESCOM to give power connections on same day

Bangalore: Consumers seeking fresh power supply connections need not worry. The Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM) has taken steps to ensure that power connections up to five KW will be granted on the same day the application is submitted with relevant documents.
BESCOM has empowered the assistant engineers/ section officers of the Commercial, Operations and Maintenance units in the city to sanction and arrange power supply to single phase installations up to 5 KW per premises, where there is no extension of lines, according to an official press release.
A customer service centre would also be established at all the Divisional Headquarters in the city to receive applications for fresh connections and complaints from the public.
Complaints
The release said that the complaints received would be redressed on the same day.
The prospective consumer can register all categories of applications at the centre, the release said.
The centre would operate from November 1 at all the divisional headquarters of BESCOM, the release added.
