Stayed

BANGALORE: The Karnataka High Court on Wednesday stayed a notice issued by the Karnataka State Women’s Commission to Kannada film director and actor S. Narayan. The commission had issued a notice to Mr. Narayan asking him to appear before it for showing in the film a young girl romancing a gentleman twice her age on a school premises in the film “Chaluvina Chittara.” The commission had received a complaint against Mr. Narayan over the scene and had summoned him. Mr. Narayan moved the High Court and Justice S. Abdul Nazir stayed all further proceedings of the commission against him and adjourned further hearing on the case. — Staff Reporter
