BEML bags contract worth Rs. 648 crore

Bangalore: BEML Ltd., a major earth moving and construction equipment company, has bagged a contract worth Rs. 648 crore from Northern Coalfields Ltd. (NCL), Singrauli, for supply and servicing of three 20 electric rope shovels.
The contract includes equipment supply for Rs. 160 crore and servicing for a period of 17 years for Rs. 488 crore. The shovels will be manufactured at BEML’s Kolar Gold Fields complex and supplied to NCL, according to a press release.
The release said the rope shovels would be serviced from their existing service centre at Singrauli, which would be later expanded to carry out the service contract for 17 years.
