Two students drown at Someshwar

MANGALORE: Two students of Government High School, Mudipu, who went on an impromptu outing, were drowned in the Arabian Sea at Someshwar near here on Saturday.

Two of their classmates, Ansar and Pawan Kumar who had accompanied them, were lucky as they did not venture into the sea for a swim.

They had initially planned to go to a movie, but changed their plans at the last minute, according to Ullal police who have registered a case. The bodies were recovered with the help of local people. Police said the bodies were handed over to their relatives later in the evening after conducting a post mortem.

Succumbs

Abbusali (40), resident of Pajiru village in Bantwal taluk, who was injured in a road accident, died here on Saturday. Konaje police who have registered a case, said the mishap occurred on Konaje-Thokkottu road at Deralakatte on Thursday.
