THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The 37th inter-district and 56th Kerala State table tennis championships will be held at the Jimmy George Indoor Stadium from December 2 to 5. More than 350 players are expected to participate in the four-day event.

The inter-district team championship will be conducted in cadet, sub-junior, junior and youth categories apart from men and women sections. The inter-district youth events are introduced for the first time in the championship.

For men and junior boys the first stage of the individual events will be a league followed by knockout in the second stage as per the pattern followed in the Nationals. For the other individual events it will be held on knockout basis. The championship will carry a total prize money of Rs. 25,000. More than 28 events will be conducted in four days.

The Trivandrum District Table Tennis Association is hosting this event for the sixth time. — Principal Correspondent
