KOLKATA: Mohun Bagan completed an unbeaten record, doubling the celebrations of regaining the premier division crown of the Sahara Calcutta Football League. Mohun Bagan with a round to spare beat Sporting by a solitary goal on Sunday to supplement the domestic title with a record to boot. P. Lalawmpuia scored the only goal of the match late in the 86th minute to ensure full three points for Bagan, which tallied 36 points from 11 wins and three draws. On the other hand last year’s champion East Bengal struggled against Chirag United SC before holding the latter 2-2 in another match on the concluding round. Rahim Nabi and Ashim Biswas scored for East Bengal. Chirag United’s goals came through Shankar Oraon and Theo Wrobeh. East Bengal finished the league campaign as runner-up on 26 points — 10 points behind champion Mohun Bagan. Chirag United finished third with 21 points while Mohammedan Sporting had a miserable season. finishing fourth with 16 points. — Principal Correspondent
