India loses to Iran

New Delhi: India lost 0-1 to Iran in its last group match of the qualifying competition for the AFC under-19 football championship in Tehran.

The solitary goal in the Group ‘B’ encounter played at the Paas Stadium on Saturday was scored by Jalaladin Alimohammedi in the 40th minute.

In its previous group matches, India lost to Lebanon 2-3, went down to Bahrain 0-1, beat Pakistan 5-0, and drew with Oman 1-1.

Lebanon (9 points) and Oman (8 points) qualified from the group. India finished fourth with four points. — PTI
